Meet Shaniqua Powell

Shaniqua is the Treasurer of New Legacy Foundation. With a deep commitment to mental health and over five years of experience in the field, Shaniqua brings a multifaceted background in therapeutic services and program leadership. Beginning her career as a paraprofessional working with children ages 3 to 5 with special needs, Shaniqua quickly developed a passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges. 

 

Currently, Shaniqua oversees supported employment programs across the state of Georgia, helping individuals access meaningful work and greater independence. She also works as a pre-licensed social worker, and have provided therapy for children, individuals, and couples, offering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each client’s unique journey.

 

Shaniqua earned a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising from the University of Georgia before pursuing a Master’s in social work at Capella University, where she expanded her focus on clinical practice and community impact. With a blend of clinical insight and programmatic leadership, Shaniqua is dedicated to advancing mental health access and outcomes across diverse communities. Outside of her personal endeavors, Shaniqua takes great pride in being a devoted mother to her daughter.
